The main gameplay is related to the transfer of valuable packages from one settlement to another, and the player must avoid losing and damaging the cargo; the game contains an unusually well-developed mechanics of moving across rough terrain and elements of an asynchronous multiplayer game. Death Stranding received critical acclaim; most reviewers noted the extreme originality and unusualness of the game, which does not fit into the usual genre framework, and also praised the graphics, musical accompaniment and acting.
